ELECTION AND APPOINTMENT OF OFFICERS

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4, by the Camp Bylaws, Department of California and Pacific Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: Having been duly elected Camp Commander, it is with my sincerest appreciation for your confidence and support that I assume command of the Phil Sheridan Camp Number 4, for the 2007 term. I am pleased to assure all of you that my fellow Camp Officers and I will diligently work to ensure that the Camp does all that it can to bring honor to our forefathers who fought to preserve the Union, and to uphold the great traditions of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. My term shall be guided by the principles of our Order: Fraternity, Charity, and Loyalty.

Section 2: I hereby establish my residence at 314 Liberty St, San Francisco, California 94114, as the Camp Headquarters. Correspondence on any matters are most welcomed and encouraged at my email address, <stevenlr@rcn.com>, or at the Camp mailing address, 3012 Lake Estates Court, San Jose, CA 95135.

Section 3: Camp Brothers who were duly elected at the Camp meeting of 18 November 2006, and installed on 6 January 2007 by Department Commander Tad D. Campbell, PCC, are as follows:

CAMP GUARD COMMANDER

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4, by the Camp Bylaws, Department of California and Pacific Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: I hereby establish the Phil Sheridan Camp 4 Camp Guard for the purpose of managing and coordinating the participation of the varied uniform elements of the Camp membership, and its associated SVR units, to support activities and events identified by the Ceremonial Observances Committee of Phil Sheridan Camp 4.

Section 2: The Chairman of the Phil Sheridan Camp 4 Ceremonial Observances Committee shall be the Commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp 4 Camp Guard.

Section 3: I hereby appoint Robert J. Kadlec (PCC), Chairman of the Phil Sheridan Camp 4 Ceremonial Observances Committee, as commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp 4 Camp Guard holding the rank of Captain through the 2007 term of my office.

MEMORIAL DAY WREATH LAYING

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4, by the Camp Bylaws, Department of California and Pacific Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: It has been the custom of Phil Sheridan Camp 4 to observe Memorial Day as a participant in the United Veteran's Council Oak Hill Cemetery Memorial Day Observance Ceremony. The Camp Commander has the pleasure of representing the Camp in laying a wreath of flowers.

Section 2: Due to the Camp Commander observing Memorial Day by acting as the Master of Ceremonies at the City of Pacifica's Official Memorial Day Observance, the Camp Commander hereby directs and orders Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4 member in good standing, Past Camp Commander and Past Department Commander Tad D. Campbell to have the honor of placing the wreath of flowers at the Oak Hill Ceremony on Memorial Day, 2007.

GUEST SPEAKER COORDINATOR

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of the Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4, by the Camp Bylaws, Department of California and Pacific Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: With due consideration of Phil Sheridan Camp 4's tradition of following a meeting agenda consistent with that of the G.A.R. meetings and following my goal of conducting camp business with Fraternity, Charity and Loyalty, I will institute a program of guest speakers at camp meetings.

Section 2: I hereby appoint Brother Donald Pray as guest speaker coordinator, and invite any and all brothers in good standing to make suggestions for and invite upon my approval, guest speakers at Camp meetings.

Section 3: In no way do I intend guest speakers to prolong the length of camp meetings. I will endeavor conduct camp business in a prompt and efficient manner.
