The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a patriotic and educational organization, similar to the Grand Army of the Republic. It was founded on November 12, 1881 and incorporated by Act of Congress August 20, 1954. The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is the legal heir to and representative of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The Gen. George Wright Camp No. 22 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) was named after Gen. George Wright (1801-1865) and was organized in 1995.

  • AREA: The Camp serves Northern California, Sacramento, and the Central Valley.
     
  • MEETINGS: Plaza Hof Brau, 2500 Watt Avenue (on the corner of El Camino Avenue) in Sacramento, CA, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month, except June, July, August, and December.
     
  • NEWSLETTER: The Newswalker
     
  • MEMORIAL DAY PARTICIPATION: Various cemeteries and ceremonies.
     
  • DUES: Annual dues are $36.00, with a $10.00 initiation fee paid the first year.
