ELECTION AND APPOINTED CAMP OFFICERS

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of Gen. W. S. Rosecrans Camp No. 2, Department of California and Pacific, by the Camp Bylaws, the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: Having been duly elected Commander by the Camp Brothers in regular session on November 14, 2009 at El Segundo, California, it is with sincere appreciation for the support and confidence shown to me that I assume command of Gen. W. S. Rosecrans Camp No. 2, Department of California and Pacific for the term, 2010. I, along with my officers, will strive to bring honor to the memory of our Union ancestors through the good works of our Order during the coming year.

Section 2: Camp Brothers who were duly elected on November 14, 2009, are as follows:

Series 2010

APPOINTMENT OF SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON BYLAWS

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of Gen. W. S. Rosecrans Camp No. 2, Department of California and Pacific, by the Camp Bylaws, the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: The following Brothers are appointed to the Special Committee on Bylaws: Thomas P. Chumley PCC (Chairman), Phillip L. Caines PCC, George J. Gliaudys Jr., and William E. Nelson PCC. The Chairman shall appoint any others he may deem necessary.

Section 2: The committee is directed to conduct a thorough review and revision of the Camp Bylaws to bring them into compliance with the governing National and Department documents. The committee shall present the revised Bylaws to the Camp Brothers at the regular Camp meeting in September 2010, so as to allow their approval at the regular Camp meeting in November 2010. The committee shall also be responsible for obtaining the Department Commander’s approval of the revised Camp Bylaws. Upon obtaining this approval of the revised Camp Bylaws, the committee shall be discharged.

Section 3: In accordance with the Camp Bylaws, the Camp Commander shall be an ex officio member of the above Committee.

Series 2010

CAMP DIVISIONS

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of Gen. W. S. Rosecrans Camp No. 2, Department of California and Pacific, by the Camp Bylaws, the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: To enable the Camp to better serve its members and the area assigned to it, we are arranging the Camp Brothers into seven geographic divisions as allowed by the National Regulations.

Section 2: Division No. 1 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the following cities and communities of the County of Los Angeles: Bell, Bell Gardens, City of Commerce, Cudahy, East Los Angeles, Hawthorne, Hollywood, Huntington Park, Inglewood, La Habra Heights, Lawndale, Lennox, Los Angeles (part), Maywood, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South Gate, South Pasadena, Vernon, Watts, West Hollywood, Westchester, Whittier and those Brothers residing outside the Counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura. This division shall be known by the distinctive name Rosecrans’ Own Division No. 1.

Section 3: Division No. 2 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the following cities and communities of the County of Los Angeles: Carson, El Segundo, Gardena, Harbor City, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Los Angeles (part), Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, San Clemente Island, San Pedro, Torrance and Wilmington. This division shall be known by the distinctive name Gen. Ambrose E. Burnside Division No. 2.

Section 4: Division No. 3 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the following cities and communities of the County of Los Angeles: Acton, Agoura Hills, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Canoga Park, Canyon Country, Castaic, Chatsworth, Culver City, Encino, Granada Hills, Hidden Hills, Lake Hughes, Lancaster, Littlerock, Llano, Los Angeles (part), Malibu, Marina del Rey, Mission Hills. Newhall, North Hills, North Hollywood, Northridge, Pacific Palisades, Pacoima, Palmdale, Panorama City, Pearblossom, Playa del Rey, Porter Ranch, Reseda, San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Stevenson Ranch, Studio City, Sylmar, Tarzana, Toluca Lake, Topanga, Universal City, Valencia, Valley Village, Valyermo, Van Nuys, Venice, West Hills, West Los Angeles, Westlake Village, Winnetka and Woodland Hills. This division shall be known by the distinctive name Gen. George H. Thomas Division No. 3.

Section 5: Division No. 4 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the following cities and communities of the County of Los Angeles: Alhambra, Altadena. Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bradbury, Burbank, Claremont, Covina, Diamond Bar, Duarte, Eagle Rock, El Monte, Glendale, Glendora, Hacienda Heights, Highland Park, City of Industry, Irwindale, La Canada-Flintridge, La Crescenta, La Puente, La Verne, Los Angeles (part), Monrovia, Monterey Park, Montrose, Mount Wilson, Pasadena, Pomona, Rosemead, Rowland Heights, San Dimas, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South El Monte, Sun Valley, Sunland, Temple City, Tujunga, Verdugo City, Walnut and West Covina.

Section 6: Division No. 5 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the following cities and communities of the County of Los Angeles: Artesia, Avalon, Bellflower, Cerritos, Compton, Downey, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood, Norwalk, Paramount, Santa Catalina Island and Signal Hill. This division shall be known by the distinctive name Gen. Henry W. Lawton Division No. 5.

Section 7: Division No. 6 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the County of Ventura. This division shall be known by the distinctive name Gen. William Vandever Division No. 6.

Section 8: Division No. 7 shall generally include those Brothers residing in the Counties of Riverside and San Bernardino.

CAMP ORDER No. 4
Series 2010

AIDE-DE-CAMP RECOGNITION PROGRAM

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of Gen. W. S. Rosecrans Camp No. 2, Department of California and Pacific, by the Camp Bylaws, the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: The objective of this program is to increase the number of Brothers in our Camp and Sisters in our Auxiliary residing in the Counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura.

Section 2: Any Brother in good standing of our Camp who, between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010, recruits at least five (5) members residing in the Counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and/or Ventura shall receive the honorary position of Aide-de-Camp for the year 2011, be recognized in a Camp Order, and receive a recognition device for their Camp nameplate.

Definitions:

The term “recruits” for the purposes of this program shall include new first-time members, reinstated members, transferring members, and current members becoming life members. In the later case, the Brother can include himself to achieve the minimum five (5) members required.

The term “members” for the purposes of this program shall include 1) Members (with lineage), Associate Members, Junior Members, and/or Junior Associate Members of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW); and 2) Members (with lineage), Members (female relative of a Son), Associate Members, and/or Junior Members of the Auxiliary to Sons of Union Veteran of the Civil War (ASUVCW).

Section 3: The Junior Vice Commander and the Camp Council is directed to develop a named annual award to honor the Brother who excels in this effort. This award is to be presented for the first time in January 2011.

CAMP ORDER No. 5
Series 2010

APPOINTMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHER

 

By the authority vested in me as Commander of Gen. W. S. Rosecrans Camp No. 2, Department of California and Pacific, by the Camp Bylaws, the Department Bylaws, the National Constitution and Regulations, and National Policies, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1: Brother Shane R. Benedict is appointed as Photographer.

Section 2: The purpose of the Photographer is to create a photographical record of the Camp’s activities.

Section 3: The activities of the Photographer should include: (1) Providing the Senior Vice Commander digital photographs for promoting the Camp and the Order; (2) Providing the Newsletter Editor digital photographs for publication in the Camp newsletter; (3) Providing the Signals Officers digital photographs for publication on the Camp Web site and Facebook group pages; (4) Providing the Historian a digital photographical record of the Camp’s activities; (5) Maintain contact with the Senior Vice Commander.
