The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a patriotic and educational organization, similar to the Grand Army of the Republic. It was founded on November 12, 1881 and incorporated by Act of Congress August 20, 1954. The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is the legal heir to and representative of the Grand Army of the Republic.

The Lincoln Camp No. 10 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) was established on April 1, 2000, and is named for the original Lincoln Camp of Santa Cruz, which was founded in 1898. The ultimate namesake for both Camps was Pres. Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865).

  • AREA: The Camp serves the California counties of Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito.
     
  • MEETINGS: Last Saturday of February, April and August. Election of Officers will be held on the first Saturday in December. Meeting place: Veterans Memorial Building, 846 Front Street, Santa Cruz, California.
     
  • NEWSLETTER: The Lincoln Wire, published quarterly.
     
  • MEMORIAL DAY PARTICIPATION: GAR Plot, Evergreen Cemetery, Santa Cruz, CA.
     
  • DUES: Annual dues: $30.00, with a one-time initiation fee of $5.00

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a 501(c)(4) organization and is approved by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as an organization to which tax deductible gifts can be made pursuant to Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
